10"x10" Clear Black Streaky with Gold Glass Koi Decals

You will learn about the techniques I, & other  artist, use to create both art and “usable” glass pieces.  Glass is  always the perfect gift, be it for Weddings, Anniversaries, Birthdays,  or a Special Occasion. Every piece is original and unique, not something you readily find in a department store.
I’m obsessed with Glass, it is my passion and there does not seem to  be enough hours in the day to do the things I must do and work on my  glass.
One of the things I want to do in The Glass Ant, is feature other  Fused Glass Artist in the Las Vegas Area.  Artist I think are making a  contribution to our field & are inspiring.  Everyone’s Glass style,  color preferences, size, shape, and nuances in their approach to Fusing  Glass varies across the spectrum, which is what makes glass so  interesting.  It’s always new and unique, even when 2 or more artist do  the same piece. What can I say!

Multi-media, my personal favorite

Combining different textures & materials into your glass creations is the best! Try incorporating silver leaf & copper foil into your glass.  Remember if you incorporate metals, they need to be ~99% pure or the metal will turn dark.  In this piece I've used silver foil (uncapped) with French Vanilla & Light Cyan Frit to capitalize on the reactive properties of the glass.

FEATURED ARTIST - KAREN MEREDITH

After doing stained glass and mosaics, I found fused glass and my passion.  I've been working in fused glass for over ten years and it never gets boring.  There is always something new and exciting to learn & share in this craft.  You know you're addicted to fused glass when you can visualize a project from seeing a picture or nature scene and can't say 'no' to buying more glass.  I enjoy trying new techniques, experimenting with frit and various metal inclusions to create unique pieces.
